- Why should I use getplanning™?
getplanning is designed to help you save time/money/resources (no need to print unless you need to) and its helps you file all documents and event communication in one central location, meaning that anyone assigned to your event is always up-to-speed on what is going on! No more searching for items that need to be shared with others - no more saving documents in the wrong location. Everything you need is at your fingertips!The question should probably be "Why shouldn't I use getplanning™"?
- Do I need any special software to run the application?
No. The application is web-based which means as long as you have access to the internet then you are all set.
It is accessible via PC, Mac, Tablet, smartphone or anything that connects you to the internet! And talking of tablets, it has been optimized for use on any of them (iPad, Kindle etc) and at any size (regular, mini - you name it) and, may we say, it looks beautiful on all!
- Is getplanning™ secure?
Very much so! As secure as online banking!
Even though the application doesn't process credit cards, getplanning is PCI Compliant at Level 1 - the highest level of PCI Compliance.
In addition, there are a number of security measures in place:
- all stored documents are fully encrypted
- credit card numbers cannot be submitted
via any of the free text boxes i.e. comments
& discussions.
Note: if someone does type a credit card number and tries to submit it, they get a notice that states "no credit card numbers allowed" - the system doesn't even accept them so there's no liability issues! - What internet browser can I view getplanning™ on?
getplanning has been tested and is fully compatible to run on the following browsers:

- Can I theme getplanning™ to my company's colors and branding requirements?
YES. Each instance of getplanning™ is themed to our clients specifications. This includes color palette, use of company logo, company specific wording on the 'Home' page and photos for the 'Home' page slideshow.documents they see. For example, you could assign your group housing coordinator as a user and only let him/her view the rooming list section. Simple and easily achieved in the Admin section of the application.
- Who has access to the application and, more importantly, the information I upload into it? What type of 'Users' are there?
If you are assigned as an administrator (Executive or Convention Services), you have the ability to decide and assign who has access to the application and what categories he/she can view. If you are not an administrator you will be assigned under one of three designations: "Hotel", "Planner" or "Vendor". If you are assigned as one of these you have the ability to view, upload, download documents and leave comments / discussions in the sections you have been granted access to. Don't worry - if there is other information you would like to see or you would like a colleague to have access, you just need to contact an Administrator and make that request.
- What kind of documents can I store in getplanning™?
Any documents or files, pertinent to the operation and planning of an event.
As long as the hardware (computer, iPad, smartphone etc) you are using to access the internet has the capabilities (i.e. it has Microsoft Office, iWork etc loaded) you can store any type of document.
Viewable document types include:
.jpg, .tiff, .gif (images); .doc and .docx (Microsoft Word); .htm and .html (web pages); .key (Keynote); .numbers (Numbers); .pages (Pages); .pdf (Preview and Adobe Acrobat); .ppt and .pptx (Microsoft PowerPoint); .txt (text); .rtf (rich text format); .vcf (contact information); .xls and .xlsx (Microsoft Excel). - Is it cost prohibitive to use getplanning™?
No. The cost for getplanning™ involves a one-time configuration fee and a yearly license fee. For more information on pricing please contact us (we can't give away all our information on here!)
- Is there a limit on the number of people I can give access to getplanning™ or number of events I can include?
No. getplanning allows for unlimited users and/or events.
- Is getplanning™ available in other languages?
YES. At present getplanning™ is available in English (U.S.), Spanish and Chinese. In the upcoming months getplanning™ will also be available in a number of other languages including (but not limited to) Portuguese, German, Japanese, French and Italian.
- Are there any plans to add new features to getplanning™ in the future?
YES. And we're very excited about them!
